Hours

The clinic opens at 8 AM weekdays and remains open until 5 PM routinely.

My first appointment is generally 8:45 and I try to continue on appointments until 11 AM.  I try to see urgent work-ins between 11 and 1:30.  Likewise in the afternoon, my first appointment is 1:30 and seeing generally appointments until 3:00 and urgent work-ins from 3:30 until we leave.  My nurse can help arrange an urgent visit if all of our appointments are full.

If you feel you have an emergency, please speak to my nurse at the clinic or go to the Emergency Room at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.  If you have an urgent problem, I will make every effort to see you within 24 hours.

We love this community

I have chosen to emphasize preventive health care including screening for cancer routinely, physicals to detect emerging problems, and evidence based goals for known risk factors including weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar.  Hopefully, this site will further patient's knowledge of what goals they should be trying to achieve and which screening procedures they should have performed.  These ideals mesh with the local initiative of the community health programs as well as the "Healthy Arkansas" emphasis at the state level.

I support the community with participation in school athletic physicals, athletic event supervision, community screenings, and a clinic for the underserved residents of this area.I support the local hospital in it's efforts to provide quality inpatient and outpatient  services to North Arkansas by serving as Chief of Staff, working with administration in ongoing projects, and encouraging our patients to use the hospital's services when appropriate.  My children have all attended Harrison Schools: Nick graduated 2006 with high honors and is now in the Honors Engineering program at the University of Arkansas.  Rebekah is a sophmore at Harrison High school and Maggie is in 6th grade at Harrison Middle school

Prescription refills

We intend for patients to have access to all of their routine medications.  To that end, in order to guarantee uninterupted prescriptions at the pharmacy, patients should notify their pharmacy when they start taking the last week of a routine medications for a refill.  In this way, a refill if needed can be authorized before the patient runs out of medication.

If you chose to call the clinic yourself for a refill from Dr Tom, please leave a message including your medication, dose, pharmacy, and home phone number.  Please do not call back for 24 hrs from the first message and check with the pharmacy before calling the clinic again.  If you require written prescriptions for mail order pharmacies, please leave a list of the needed medication refills at the front desk and we will have them written within 48 hours.

Finally, some medications require routine monitoring of lab values or other physical signs or findings.  We will generally refill medications for one month beyond the normal monitoring period to allow convenient scheduling of repeat labs and/or appointments.
